Homemade Granola Recipe

This delicious granola recipe is a hit at our house! It’s great for a quick breakfast or late night snack. We like it with raw milk, with chia seed pudding and with homemade yogurt. It’s so easy to make that our kids take turns preparing it for the family.


Homemade Granola Recipe


Servings: 8

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups rolled oats

  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

  • ½ cup raw sunflower seeds

  • ½ cup raw pumpkin seeds

  • ⅓ cup raw flax seeds

  • 1 cup raw sliced almonds

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

  • ½ tsp ginger

  • ½ cup raw honey

  • ½ cup coconut oil


Directions:
  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. Combine the honey and oil in a glass dish and heat up in the microwave until liquid

  3. Pour liquid into the dry ingredients and mix together thoroughly

  4. Spread mixture onto a baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet to keep it from sticking.

  5. Bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes then stir and put it back in for another 30 minutes.

  6. Let it cool and store in an airtight container.


Notes:

To avoid unhealthy oils, added sweeteners, or extra salt use raw nuts and seeds. The longer you bake the granola the crispier it will be, so feel free to adjust the time to your preference and your oven’s relative heat. It will harden as it cools.


It’s extra delicious when you eat it with fruit such as sliced bananas, raisins, or fresh/ thawed frozen berries!
